SuperPatch is a two-component, multipurpose, waterproofing mortar for patching, repairing or resurfacing concrete, masonry, stucco and brick, up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) thickness in one application. Exact amount of powder and liquid are included in this container. Just mix the powder with liquid together in a clean container. SuperPatch is a non-shrink, unique formula with exceptional strength and adhesion for use on worn surfaces. It evens sticks to glass, steel, aluminum and wood, so is ideal for areas abutting these materials. Can be feather-edged or applied up to 3 inches (7.6 cm) thickness, using multiple layers. Ideal to anchor bolts, railings, and other fixtures into concrete or to build-up worn or broken step corners without using forms. Use for vertical or horizontal, above/below grade patch and repair projects both inside and out. Will not cause acidic reaction with aluminum.
Available in white and concrete gray.
SuperPatch can be applied with trowel or putty knife. Wear protective gloves and goggles. Product’s superior adhesion eliminates the need to widen cracks with chisel prior to application.
Surface must be structurally sound and clean for best adhesion. Clean surface thoroughly using a wire brush or chisel to remove loose mortar, paint, dirt, grease, or oil. Remove any white, salt-like deposits (efflorescence) and neutralize alkali in concrete with Damtite Concrete Cleaner or mild acid and rinse thoroughly. Dampen surface prior to applying for best adhesion.
Using clean container, first add bottle of bonding liquid. Do not dilute. Then, gradually add all powder into container, while stirring until all material is mixed to thick paste. A paint stirrer attachment for electric drill is recommended when mixing larger quantity. If mixture becomes too thick to work, add small amount of clean water. Note: too much water may cause cracking. When mixing smaller quantity than entire contents, add 2 parts powder to 1 part bonding liquid.
For repairing cracks: Force mixture into cracks with putty knife or trowel. Fill cracks completely and level with surrounding surface. When replacing loose mortar, work mixture into surface and smooth with point of trowel. For leveling floors: trowel mixture onto worn sections and level with surrounding area. Allow to dry 48 hours before subject to traffic. For feather-edging: brush the edge of patch with a paint brush, moistened with water. For resurfacing from ½ – 1 inch (1.3-2.5 cm) thickness: add equal part of clean, damp aggregate (with no dust or dirt) to dry powder and use the same 2:1 powder-liquid ratio. Wet/clean trowel frequently during application. Use little pressure when smoothing patch. Try not to tear skin of patch since top surface will harden rapidly. Product can be worked for 20-30 minutes, depending upon temperature and humidity, but surface skin may set sooner. Sets in 4 hours, but allow 48 hours for complete cure. If painted finish is desired, use latex base paint after 48 hours.
